Devlog #2 - Narrowing the Path

What've we been up to?

Hey everyone! So, Lost Woods: The Forgotten Memories is really shaping up, and we're excited to share our progress with you. It's been quite the adventure diving into game development, and we're learning a lot along the way.

Since our last update, we've been working hard and making big progress. Here's what's been happening:

  • Smoother Moves: Fixed up how our character moves.
  • Camera Upgrades: You can now move the camera separately.
  • Scene Makeover: We've been making the main scene cooler by adding trees, rocks, and grass. It's looking great!
  • Enemies Movement: They are now able to follow the character around in a straight line.

Simple is Better!

Oh, by the way, we decided to focus more on the important stuff first. Quality over quantity, right? So, we've narrowed down the concept of our game and reduced the scope. Our new goal is to make a game in which:

  • Retro vibes are mixed with modern styles
  • Story is a big deal
  • Playing different roles adds to the fun

What's next?

Here's what's next on our to-do list:

  • Camera: Implementing dynamic camera movements for a cinematic experience.
  • Lighting Atmosphere: Playing around with different lighting setups to make the forest look super atmospheric and spooky.
  • Narrative Development: Introducing dialogue to enrich the game's storyline and immerse players.
  • Object Interaction: Working on a system so you can interact with stuff you find in the forest.

That's all for now, folks! Lost Woods: The Forgotten Memories is really coming together, and we're stoked to see where it goes. Keep an eye out for more updates as we keep on hustling to make this game awesome. Peace out!
